Perhaps one of the most difficult challenges with writing any form of history is presenting a historical event with the careful 'recreation' of life as it was, especially when you have so many things that could possibly go wrong. Don't worry, there's only two:
1. Do you know of a good resource on dA for finding good judges?
2. I'm guessing "Escape from Navarra(?)" was before my time, but since that sounds like a good example of how not to run an OCT, do you have a link to that tournament page, by chance?
Oh, and Happy Birthday.
Secondly, I sadly don't know of any sources on dA for finding good judges, what I ended up doing for my OCT was asking friends who I knew were reliable and who could keep a deadline. HOWEVER, the best resource you could have for finding judges is by asking people who ran OCTs to recommend judges of their choice, for usually there stands out one or two fantastic judge in any contest!
Thirdly, it was started in early 2009/late 2008, so it was nearly three years ago! The page, however, can be found here: [link] . If you listened to my lecture and I referred to a journal of some sort, the one on the front page is exactly what I referred to. If you want to find the perfect attitude that you should stay away from having when running an OCT, just read that journal X_X. Remember, treat your contestants with respect, and always happily answer any questions they might have! The tournament is about them, so let them have fun and stay happy!!!
